为了让大家更好地在湘潭大学生活，我们给大家介绍一些生活注意事项。
Let me give you some tips for studying and living in XTU.
一、宿舍管理
MANAGEMENT OF DORMITORY
1.新生报到时，请于国际交流处留学生楼前台办理入住手续。入住时请核对房间设施，并在表格中签字确认。
Freshmen must check in at the reception hall of the Foreign Students’ Building. When checking in, please sign for confirmation on the check-in Sheet.
2.当您离校时，请于国际交流处留学生楼前台办理相关退房手续后，由国际交流处办公室开具证明后，方能办理结业手续。
At the time of graduation, you must check out at the reception desk with relevant confirmation by the International Students Office of International Exchange Center before you leave school.
3.宿舍维修。宿舍的相关设施需要维修时，请到留学生楼前台填报维修单，维修人员会在预约时间段进行维修。由于个人原因造成的设施损坏，由留学生本人承担维修费用，例如，马桶堵塞、灯泡损坏、家用电器人为损坏、桌椅床铺人为损坏、门窗人为损坏等（前台可协助联系维修人员）。所有人为损坏物品照价赔偿。
Repairs. Please fill in the REPAIR BILL at the reception hall in detail (better in Chinese), the maintenance staff will come to your dormitory at the reserved time. You must take responsibility for any damage of the property or apartment caused by personal reasons, e.g. toilet clog, a damaged light bulb, artificial damage of domestic appliances and other property such as chairs, bed, desk, door and window (the reception personnel can help you to contact the maintenance staff). Any damage in the apartment will be paid according to its original cost.
4.如遇紧急情况，请联系留学生楼前台（电话：58293147）。
In case of emergency, please call the reception desk (TEL: 58293147).

5.按照学校规定，学生宿舍的校园网费用为15元每月。
According to the regulations of Xiangtan University, campus network fee is 15 RMB per month.
6.自费学生请按时到留学生楼前台缴纳房租。房租每月缴纳。奖学金生不必缴纳月房租。但其余费用，包括水电费、生活费等，所有学生须自行承担。
Self-financed students pay the rent at the reception hall on time. The rent must be paid monthly. Scholarship students are exempt from house rent on campus. Costs for gas, water, and electricity supply shall be borne by international students themselves
二、日常教学管理
MANAGEMENT OF DAILY AFFAIRS
1.报到后，请及时联系留学生部工作人员（58293938）进行学籍注册和办理居留许可。
Please contact the teacher at the International Exchange College for registration and residence permit. (TEL: 58293938)
（1）在107办公室注册学籍，提交护照复印件（首页、签证页和入境章）、录取通知书、电子相片(蓝底)等
Please register at office 107, with your passport, admission letter, visa page and latest entry stamp, e-photo (blue background), visa application form (JW202/201), etc.
（2）体检。如携带《外国人体检表格》原件，请自行携带原件去湖南国际旅行卫生保健中心认证（联系电话：0731-84721924 84718711）。如须重新体检，请空腹到湖南国际旅行卫生保健中心体检。体检须携带护照，2寸证件照3张。体检时间：周一至周五上午8:00-11:30。体检必须于报到后15日内完成。
Physical Examination. If you take the original Foreign Physical Examination Form, please certify it at the ITHC with the original documents of the physical examination form by yourself. (Tel: 0731-84721924, 84718711) Otherwise, you must go to the ITHC for another physical examination by yourself on an empty stomach, with your passport and 3 photos. (Time: Monday to Friday morning 8:00-11:30) Physical Examination must be done within 15 days after registration.
（3）中国政府奖学金报到新生，请到湘潭大学中国建设银行办理银行卡，将银行打印的账户信息交至留学生部办公室107。
Freshmen need to open a bank account in China Construction Bank on campus and hand in the print-out of your account information to the International Students Office 107.
（4）办理居留许可，请自行到湘潭市公安局人口与出入境管理支队办证大厅办理(地址：吉安路168号)，填写《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》后，须携带材料：《办理居留许可申请书》、《临时住宿登记》、护照（原件和复印件，含签证页和入境章复印件）、JW201或JW202表格复印件、《湘潭大学录取通知书》、《体检表》。居留许可须于签证到期前30天办理，过期责任自负。
For Visa or Residence Permit, please go to the Bureau of Public Security of Xiangtan (Add: Number168, Ji’An Road), with your VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM OF ALIENS, PASSPORT photocopies (front page, visa page, latest entry stamp), JW201 or JW202 (original and photocopy), ENROLLMENT DOCUMENT (original and photocopy), PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORMS (original and photocopy). Residence Permit Applications must be completed and submitted in 30 days by the expiration date of your visa, if not, you will be liable for any consequence.
2.请及时领取课程表，按照课程安排上课，禁止迟到、早退、缺课、扰乱课堂，尊重老师。
Please get the class schedule in time and comply with your class schedule. Being late, leaving early, or being absent from class is prohibited. Harassment in class is also prohibited. Due respect must be given to your teachers.
3.如需请假，请提出书面申请，批准后方能离校。
Asking for leave. You must hand in a written application for permission of being absent from class.
4.假期离校，须告知留学生部工作人员预计离校时间和返校时间。
If you need to leave prior to the scheduled school vacation, you must inform the staff regarding your estimated time of leaving and returning.

TRANSPORTATION

Address: International Exchange Center, Xiangtan University, Yuhu District, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, China
If you arrive in Changsha by train, you can transfer to Xiangtan City from the Changzhutan Bus Station（长株潭汽车站）close to the railway station (less than10 minutes for walk ), then take a taxi (cost less than 30 RMB) to Xiangtan University or take the bus No.6 to Xiangtan University.
If you arrive in Changsha by plane, you can transfer to Xiangtan City（湘潭）at the airport by bus, then take a taxi (cost less than 30 RMB) to Xiangtan University or take the bus No.6 to Xiangtan University.
